A footnote on Chen Weiming and 2 person swordply

At Blackheath Scott and I discussed the preface to Chen Weiming's book on the jian, noting his statement that he was not at that stage familiar with a two person sword fencing system. I recently asked Tang Yu-Shuin who was a student of Chen's in the 1930s about this and he said that, to his knowledge, Chen never taught a two person form, so perhaps he never got familiar enough with it or simply decided to follow Yang Chengfu's example.
