Silk sword bags

Post by David » Tue Jan 22, 2008 6:29 am

Does anyone know where I can get a Chinese style silk sword bag from to keep the dust of my swords? I had a really good picure of one but for some reason the website has removed the pucure :( . The best way to descirbe it is like a Japanese one with one side longer so it overlaps to close with two knottes cords.

Hi David,

The Silk bag in your picture is from Lisa and Alex Huangfu of Huang Chao Dynasty armoury. You can find them for sale here.

Thought those looking for sword storage bags might also be interested in sword carrying cases. Bujin Design (http://www.bujindesign.com/) makes several bags specifically for Chinese Swords.

Thanks all,

I have seen the one on Bugei but I was after something more Chinese, the ones Graham linked to are exactly what I am looking for. I mainly want them because quite frankly I am sick of dusting my swords all the time but want an attractive bag to keep the dust of them. I am going to give Haung Chao an e-mail and see if they have any other fabrics. There is also a local company who do custom Japanese sword Bags, their work is stunning so I think I will also get in touch with them to see if they can do one of these.

Scott, those carrying cases are a great idea too :) .
