Tournament Question

Post by Linda Heenan » Tue Nov 04, 2008 1:06 am

I'm posting this for Matt O'Neill:

I will be competing in the Traditional Chinese Sword League Youth Tournament in Australia in January. I have a question about one of the rules. In Section 4 Jian Form there is a kick and thrust move right at the start. If I was to use that in the tournament, would it be considered excessive force?

Matt

I don't think so. But that would be the judge's call. My understanding of excessive force is when you swing your weapon with enough power to break bones.
