Howdy all'

I have an antique jian project that is nearing completion and i want to give the scabbard a traditional style lacquer finish. Actually I don't recall ever seeing much about the subject here or anywhere else but perhaps someone may beable to point me in the right direction if there is someone who knows how to do it properly that i can learn from.

Thanks..

You might try contacting restorers of Japanese swords/scabbards. They might know where to get real lacquer of a good substitute.
