POB for Wooden Dao
I own a wooden liuye dao made by Raven Studio.
I was wondering if the spec's are in line with reality.
The length of the grip is aprox 19cm/7.5inch, bladelength is aprox 75cm/29.5inch and POB aprox 16,5cm/6.5inch from the guard.
Anybody got an idea???
thanx Ynze

article on dao
OK Here it is. Mind you I'm not a linguist. This is a translation of an article, written by Epi van der Pol in the Dutch Taiji-Vizier of December 2007. The Dao form, taught by Scott Rodell in his workshop last November, is up until now the oldest written Dao form on paper dating 1925 or 1926. ...

Hello, how far have you got so far? Well as I wrote it's hardly anything. I think the author of the article got his info from Mr. Rodell. If you want I can make a summary of the article in english. I'm interested too and working on it as well. I've read back through your previous threads. From what...

another dao question (dao fa)
During the Dao workshop in Holland on April 4, mister Rodell talked about “dao fa” (?).
Question mark because I’m not sure how to spell.
What I would like to know is, what a good translation would be. Something like “the way of the dao” or the “spirit of the dao”?

question on Yangshi Taiji Dao
Hello, Got a question on the dao form. I’m trying to grasp the purpose of move number 6 (see below. Borrowed it from an other thread). Behind the descriptions I wrote the direction you’re facing. Yangshi Taiji Dao 1. Ready (N) 2. Step shoulder width, turn in left foot, turn right foot on the heel (N...

Cheng Man-ch'ing
Since several years I practice the Cheng Man-ch'ing 37 posture form. On the internet I found an article comparing the style from Cheng Man-ch'ing with Yang Cheng-fu. (http://www.sataichi.com/compare.html) As you can see the yang style is more forward orientated and Cheng’s style more backwards. In t...
