I sent a sms to Vincent. Its not really much he can do about it since its all up to Joe to get production/shipping etc. going, but at least he can bring Joe the word in person... Perhaps it'll speed things up a bit, although I wouldn't bet on it. :) Thanks Kenneth. I'd been wondering who was respon...

Re: Problems with Huanuo
I can certainly understand how you feel. Honestly, I don't believe the main office in Shanghai has ever ripped anyone off by not sending them a sword they paid for, but they do have a poor track record when it comes to the time it takes to get that client's sword shipped. It is simply a problem of ...

Problems with Huanuo
The following is a copy of a post that I made in our UK forum: 'It is with great reluctance that I write this post. I shall keep it brief and to the point: Earlier this year I ordered a Huanuo sword from Peter Dekker. On 4th June Peter emailed to say that a liuyedao was made and could be delivered w...

Sword Mechanics
A very interesting article in ARMA by George Turner:
Sword Motions and Impacts
Has anyone tried applying the observations in part one to see if Chinese swords fall within the same parameters as European swords?

Does Li Deyin mention a particular source for this information? No, he doesn't. Quote: "This sabre was designed and modified from conventional broadsword by Grand Master Yang Chengfu to coincide with the practice of the Yang style sabre" This quote is a translation of Li Deyin's words on a DVD prod...

When discussing a "taiji dao" people indeed often mean that willow leaf mounted on a dadao handle. I don't know where the myth started but I can imagine that probably someone, somewhere in history has practised taiji with it. Professor Li Deyin attributes the design of the taiji dao to Yang Chengfu...
