As far as I know, the thumb is on the outside of the fingers for the talisman.

I have always heard and seen the thumb on top of the middle two fingers. I tried doing the reverse when I saw this topic. I just don't feel like the sword is firmly in my grip having the thumb below the fingers. In terms of protection, at most the first knuckle of the thumb would be protected. The r...

... Where does learning the Michuan Form fit into this? From the few San-shou and Tui-shou classes I've attended, it seems to me that the students who were learning Michuan were better rooted and had more applications from that form to bring into the mix. That observation might be subtley incorrect...
